The best Minecraft kitchen ideas

What are some cool Minecraft kitchen ideas? Minecraft kitchens, like houses in general, range from simple to extravagant. This room is central to any home, but it can be tricky to know where to start without some kind of template to follow.

With so many intricate parts, like working cupboards, shiny work surfaces, and even usable ovens, there’s a lot to consider when putting together a kitchen for your Minecraft home – and that’s not even including the types of materials you have to decide on. You may want somewhere to retire after defeating the Minecraft Ender Dragon or a place to concoct new potions and all your Minecraft brewing needs. Whatever the use, it’s important the kitchen feels like home, whether that be chilling out at the breakfast bar or entertaining friends.

Here are the best Minecraft kitchen ideas:

Basic kitchen

If you’re looking for a kitchen that wouldn’t look out of place in an Ikea catalog, then a basic kitchen is likely the way to go. These look great with plenty of windows, but with some lovely hanging lights for entertaining guests in the evening.

This kitchen from MCram is an ideal way to flex your creative muscles without getting too bogged down with appliances. It’s not a fully working kitchen, but it looks like one, and trap doors as cupboard doors at least give the appearance of functioning storage.

Modern kitchen

We’ve included a few modern kitchen designs, with some working ones further down, but stylistically this one is our favorite. You might notice some similarities to the kitchen above, and that’s because this one also comes from MCram, so the lighting, for example, is the same. However, their updated design replaces trapdoors with a clever banner technique, and we love the realistic result.

The only downside to this kitchen is that it does utilize some sneaky mechanics, like invisible item frames, so you do need to have Minecraft commands turned on, meaning this kitchen design is best for a creative world – unless you don’t care about your achievements.

Cottage kitchen

Of course you might not want a modern design, and a cottagecore kitchen is more your thing. Soft woods, flowers, and muted tones to match your cute home.

If that sounds like what you’re after, then try this kitchen from VexelVille. Barrels make the perfect cupboards when paired with oak planks, and of course they’re functional, allowing you to store all your edible items within. Instead of a granite center island, this kitchen features a cozy wooden dining table with just two seats. The kitchen in the video tutorial above is pretty big, but it’s not too tough to size this kitchen down to suit your requirements.

Cellar kitchen

If you’re not interested in windows to the outside world, then this little slice of culinary paradise from Grian on YouTube could be ideal for you. A peaceful haven, this kitchen offers wine dispensers, along with a stunning extractor fan above a stone central island.

Made predominantly from stone, it wouldn’t look out of place in a stone-based home like the Medieval house we mentioned in our Minecraft house ideas guide. Even better, since this kitchen is in the basement, you can even add it to an existing Minecraft house without having to change your build.

Working kitchen diner

Here’s where things can get a little trickier but much more rewarding. While having a good-looking kitchen is great, having one that actually works is even better. This effort from Typface is brought to life by warm lighting, wooden decor, and a working oven that’ll have you cooking blocky feasts in no time. And, with plenty of space for guests, you can host scrummy in-game dinner parties.

If you want to show off, then Magma has created a truly impressive Minecraft kitchen space. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing, but this kitchen features a fully functional refrigerator, microwave, stove, and more – all nestled into its quartz cupboards and worktops. The microwave will even emit a sound when food is cooked!

Want a really smart-looking, minimalist kitchen? This build does require the clever use of Redstone blocks and pistols to compress blocks (particularly with the fridge), but it’s a really clean design that, by following MCram’s directions, is a relatively painless build. Just make sure you have the right Minecraft texture packs and Minecraft shaders (MCram recommends the BSL shader and Faithful 32x texture pack)

These Minecraft Kitchen design ideas will please any chef, so you can host your pals for a fancy dinner in one of the best PC games, or just lock yourself away for a weekend of peace and tranquility.
